Here are some websites what I like. They are not in any order really.
- Andy Toots. Mr Toots always makes me laugh. His observations of life (particularly his teenage years) are crackingly similar to mine. Lovely bloke he is too - and he’s on Twitter.
- Just Plain Sense. Christine Burns MBE. I’m not one to shout a lot re: equality and diversity - to be honest I find most initiatives confuse “we want to be equal” with “we want to be superior” and campaign for things the “majority” don’t have themselves. Just Plain Sense is a breath of fresh air in that field and does what it says on the tin. Fascinating interviews and insights into different areas of “equality, diversity and dignity” that are very easy going and informative. Rather than the usual website that would interview, for example, a disabled person and manage to get the word “disabled” into every question, Just Plain Sense is interviews with people about their lives and doesn’t make issues out of issues (cf. the associated Twitter feed of Christine Burns MBE herself).
- Dr Petra. The only sex educator worth listening to. She’s on Twitter too.
- Oliver Dibben Photography. Now based in Manhattan, once based in the lab down the corridor. Virologist by day, photographer by night. Takes amazing photographs and sells them on the interweb. I have the dubious honour of being his first customer :) He is also on Tumblr but not Twitter. This is a bit of a shame.
- Mr Neil’s Blog. Mr Neil does Climbing Up and likes to eat jelly shaped like a robot. That is all you need to know about him. He doesn’t blog much but thankfully, he is on Twitter, for all of us to love and giggle at.
- Jay Neale. If you can picture a Bernese Mountain Dog puppy but human, you’ve basically got the idea of Jeremy. He’s done amazing things in the Arctic for charadeeeee. Follow him on Twitter and share the jeremylove.
- Dragon Fly. Crochet, quilting, life, love, fun and a good healthy dose of reality.
- Mindspunk. Written by my dear, dear Twitterfriend Ben. Ben shares my outlook and tastes with respect to many things and writes beautifully - would that he didn't have such an improper blog title, but that's the youth of today for you...
